The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced the much-awaited Junior Engineer (JE) Recruitment 2025 under the Centralized Employment Notification (CEN) No. 05/2025. This recruitment aims to fill a total of 2570 vacancies across various Railway Zones in India for the posts of Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA). Educational Qualification:

Candidates must have a Diploma or Degree in Engineering from a recognized university or institution in the relevant trade. Detailed discipline-wise qualifications are listed in the official notification. Applicants must ensure that they meet the required academic standards before applying.

Age Limit (as on 01 January 2025):

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 36 years
  • Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD and other categories as per government rules.

Nationality:

Applicants must be citizens of India. Candidates from Nepal, Bhutan, or Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1st January 1962 may also apply as per eligibility rules.

The RRB JE 2025 selection process involves multiple stages of testing to ensure that only the most qualified candidates are selected. The process includes the following:

  • Computer Based Test (CBT) – Stage I
  • Computer Based Test (CBT) – Stage II
  • Document Verification
  • Medical Examination

The CBT will test candidates on subjects like General Awareness, General Science, Mathematics, Reasoning, and Technical Abilities. Each wrong answer will attract a penalty of 1/3 mark. Candidates qualifying in CBT-1 will be shortlisted for CBT-2. Final selection will be based on merit and medical fitness.

The RRB Junior Engineer post falls under Level 6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC). The basic pay is ₹35,400/- per month along with other allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), Transport Allowance, and House Rent Allowance (HRA). The in-hand salary generally ranges between ₹48,000 to ₹52,000 per month depending on posting location and allowances.
